How I Work

Therapy can be a place to explore those challenges that may leave you feeling stuck, and discover what you might need to help you move forward.

There is no single right way to do therapy, and therapy can’t always change the circumstances we find ourselves in. But it can offer a space to make sense of what we are experiencing, grieve what may have been lost, reconnect with parts of ourselves that have become harder to access, and explore what might feel more possible or sustainable now.

My role is not to tell you what to do or make decisions for you. Instead, I offer a warm, safe, collaborative space where we can explore what is happening, at your own pace, notice any patterns or themes that emerge, and make sense of how your experiences connect.

Together, we can rediscover your understanding of yourself, while developing insight, knowledge and practical strategies that can support ongoing change long after you have left the therapy room.

As an integrative therapist, I don’t work from a one-size-fits-all model. Our work will be shaped around you, your needs, experiences, communication style, preferences and the unique challenges you are bringing to therapy. What is helpful for one person may not be helpful for another, and the way we work can change over time as your needs change.

For some people, having space to talk and reflect may be what feels most useful. For others, we might use creativity, imagery, metaphor, mindfulness, journalling or other reflective approaches to explore experiences that can be difficult to put into words.

There is no expectation that you will use creative approaches, and you don’t need to think of yourself as a “creative person”. We can work together to find approaches that feel accessible, meaningful and useful to you.
